Noteworthy Concerts - The Canadian Piano Quartet perform Pianopoly featuring Duo Turgeon and The Bergmann Piano Duo
Come and join us for the season opening performance of Noteworthy Classical Concerts with The Bergmann Piano Duo and Duo Turgeon with a musical celebration featuring two pianos, eight hands and forty fingers.
The Canadian Piano Quartet, made-up of Anne Louise-Turgeon, Edward Turgeon, Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann will join together in a playful pianistic display featuring works for multiple pianists. Both duos are laureates of the Dranoff International Two Piano Competition and have enjoyed collaborating over the years at various festivals and on tour. They will explore a range of delightful and familiar repertoire, with works by Saint-Saëns, Bach, Rossini and Gershwin.
About The Bergmann Piano Duo
The Bergmann Piano Duo’s dynamic and energetic performances of uniquely eclectic programmes have inspired audiences for more than two decades. Their recitals and concerts with orchestra have taken them to many parts of the world from the United States to Italy, Germany, Holland, Greece and Canada. The duo has appeared at international festivals including: The San Francisco International Music Festival, MusicFest Vancouver, the celebrated Gilmore International Keyboard Festival, the Banff Arts Festival, the Royal Bank Calgary International Organ Festival and Competition, the International Two Piano Symposium and Schubertiade, Miami, the Tage für Neue Musik, Darmstadt, the Braunschweiger Kammermusik Podium and at EXPO 2000 in Hannover.
The duo studied with Arie Vardi at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany and with Jean-Eudes Vaillancourt at the Université de Montréal. They received first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Caltanissetta, Italy, and were Laureates of the 4th Murray Dranoff International Two Piano Competition.

Born in Montreal and Toronto respectively, Canadian pianists Anne Louise-Turgeon and Edward Turgeon have been playing together since 1988, and performing professionally since 1996. Critically acclaimed as one of the top piano duos of our time, the Turgeons have given hundreds of performances, including a European debut at the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, and a New York debut at Weill Recital Hall, to name a few. Festival appearances include Sanibel Chamber Music, San Francisco International Chamber Music, Montreal International Duo Piano, Duettissimo (Minsk), Novosibirsk International Duo Piano, Festival Miami, New York Summer Music Festival, Austin Chamber Music, Algoma Fall Festival, Chicago International Two Piano Festival, Norfolk Chamber and the World Piano Conference (Serbia), to name a few.
